Prayer and Liturgy
Our prayer life is an important part of who we are at St Mary’s. We pray and worship in a variety of ways at different times and different places. We have whole school Masses and class Masses, assemblies led by the teachers and assemblies led by the children, in particular our wonderful Faith Council We reflect on our own, in groups, in classes or all together. We sing together, we pray together, we listen, reflect and respond to scripture. We even became experts at online assemblies and socially distanced worship - nothing can stop our prayer and liturgy and we firmly believe that a family that prays together, stays together! Sometimes our worship raises the roof and at other times it is quiet, meaningful and reflective. We take our lead from the Church’s liturgical year. We help our children to understand the teachings of the Church and to translate their faith into their daily life.
Pupil Voice
"I enjoy doing activities because when we do them, we learn of how much God loves each and every one of us. (for example when we write down the gifts that God has gave us). I also enjoy being told or telling earthly stories with a heavenly meaning and sharing the good news about God."
"I really enjoy collective worship because I like hearing the Bible reading and the little activities or writing a short prayer."
"I really enjoy R.E and collective worship because it makes me feel like God is right beside me. When doing R.E and collective worship I’m showing that I love God with all my heart because God will always be with us no matter what."
